Itinerary

Departure from Athens
The drive to Nafplio takes about 2.5 hours, so try to leave early to make the most of your day.
Arrive in Nafplio and start your day.

Palamidi Fortress
Drive up to Palamidi Fortress or, for the adventurous, climb the 999 steps. Spend about an hour exploring the fortress and enjoy the panoramic views.

Walk through the Old Town and Coffee Break
Descend to the old town of Nafplio. Walk through the charming streets, visit Constitution Square, and stop at a local café for a traditional Greek coffee and a light breakfast.

Bourtzi Castle
Take a short boat trip to Bourtzi Castle. Spend about 45 minutes exploring the small island fortress and enjoy the view of Nafplio.

Nafplio Seafront Walk
Enjoy a relaxing walk along Nafplio's seaside promenade. Have lunch at a traditional taverna or enjoy an ice cream while admiring the harbor view.

Start your journey back to Athens.

Arrive back in Athens. If you still have energy, consider enjoying a late dinner at one of Athens’ excellent restaurants or simply relax after a day full of exploration. 

Bourtzi Castle: When visiting Bourtzi Castle, make sure to bring sunscreen and a hat, as the sun can be strong during summer. Also, remember that access to the castle is by boat, so be ready to get a little wet.
Enjoy the Local Cuisine: Don’t miss out on trying local dishes at a traditional tavern, such as Bougouri (feta cheese with tomato and peppers) and fresh seafood.
